Montana loves the movie "Kicking & Screaming" with Will Ferrell...so I figured these pics would be appropriate for the post. They are a little blurry but he was moving around so much and I'm trying to move around to make sure I get his face in the pic. He loves to watch the boys in the movie play soccer and he even claps when a goal is scored...it's too cute. I even enjoy the movie but I also like anything Will Ferrell is in....and yes, I even liked "A Night at the Roxbury".

This & That
Finally made myself an altered comp book...and I really needed it. I must have about 20 post-it notes laying around the computer area along with empty bill envelopes and scraps of paper with all kinds of info and stuff written on them. Then I get frustrated with myself for not being able to find an address or due date or whatever I am looking for. So I got a large composition book(measures about 7.5 x 9.75) and decorated the front. Now I have this book right here and ready for me to start filling with info. (you can click on pic to see it larger)
Tricia....you were correct...the woman in the previous post is stamped on an old book page and then colored with color pencils.
ATC Swap Update: Due date is still almost a month away so if you think you can make 5 atc's and get them to me on time then you can still play, just email me. Six sets have already arrived and they are fabulous. If you don't know what I am talking about then click here for more info on the swap.

Wednesday Stamper
I am so excited that there is now a weekly challenge for rubberstampers. Belinda and Christine have started Wednesday Stamper. Every week they will have a stamping challenge for you to do. This week is to show how you use your favorite "text" rubberstamp. I used my favorite text stamp by American Art Stamp for the background of the card below. I love it since it has some of my favorite words and it is also a large stamp that covers quite a bit of area. (Woman stamp is by Stamp Francisco.)
So all of you rubberstamp lovers, break out those stamps and go check out the weekly challenge at Wednesday Stamper.

Cake

These pics are from Montana's first birthday last year. I love the picture cakes and think they are the neatest. We got them done at Publix since we think their icing is the yummiest. Publix also gives out a free baby cake for the first birthday which is in the last pic. All Montana did was play with the cake and get it everywhere. He had it up his nose, in his ear and in his hair. He had to have a good wash down before he got to open any presents. I'm not sure if we are going to go with another picture cake this year. I'm leaning toward some kind of themed cake.

My Mess
I was visiting my buddy Carlene's blog and she had posted her work area. I told her that if she came to FL to help me clean my room then I would go help her clean hers :0) By the way Carlene is a great person and you can see alot of her art in Shabby & Beyond Scrapbooking Ideas and I have seen many of her scrapbook pages in the Legacy magazine. Anyways....I decided to show my mess of an artroom where I play after seeing her post. You can click on the pics to get a better view.
Above is where I do most of my artwork. The pic shows about a third of the table. I didn't take a pic of the left side since it is where I keep swap stuff together. I actually cleaned my table off last night since I need to make some cards. On the left are stacks of cardstock and 6 x 6 paper pads. Also in easy reach are my fave ink pads....many are the little colorbox chalk inks. And then there are the twinkling h2o's. Oh, and that tool with the pink handles is the Crop-a-Dile which is a must have....I love that little tool. Underneath, which you can't see, is an iris cart and other little stuff.
The above pic is my table to the right. I have my little stereo and next to it is a cd holder/spinner. There aren't cd's in those cases. They are full of unmounteds and are labeled by company name so I can find them easily. I also have a stand up cd holder full of unmounteds that isn't shown. Under this side of the table is also a rolling cart full of 12 x 12 paper. There is also another big bin on the other end of the table that is full of paper...yeah, I need help, I know it :0)
This is my wall of mounted stamps. Rick built this for me to hold my mounted stamps, ink pads, ribbon, decorative scissors and whatever else I can fit on it. I do have another table...you can see the tip of it on the right side of the pic...that is right in front of the window.
The above pic is my problem area...right in front of the stamps is a total mess. I have no idea how to catagorize some things so they just get piled up. And yeah, you guessed it, that big 6-drawer cart is full of more 12 x 12 paper. So that is a glimpse as to where I am late at night.
p.s. have a great weekend
much thanks to each person that commented on the previous post. And thanks to each and every person that visits my blog :0)

IMT/Numeral Art

Inspire Me Thursday's theme this week is Numeral Art and I just happened to have created this piece. The base is a piece of rusty tin. Claire(owner of the local stamp store) gave me the hangy thing at the bottom of the piece. I don't know what it is but I think it is the coolest. Hmmmmmmmm...maybe I should visit Claire more often :0)

Paperbag Studios
Just a heads up that Roben-Marie has updated her site and is taking preorders for the new stamps. So go to Paperbag Studios and check out the new stamps and make sure to stop by the rubber gallery section(gallery 6) to see samples made with them. Let me know what you think of the samples I created :0) Have fun.

ATC Buffet
At the local stamp store there is an 'ATC Buffet' once a month where you can go in and make atc's for 3 hours. The owner provides everything: the base cards, images, ribbon, buttons, papers and all kinds of embellishments and my favorite: rub-ons :0) So I made these three little atc's yesterday at the stamp store. Now you know it takes about an hour for me to make one atc....boy, i am slow.
P.S. Paula...sorry it took so long...the pp in the birdie piece is by Daisy D's. I love that paper and there are some new papers that I can't wait to get a hold of by them.

Montana Monday

Montana in the papasan chair which is my favorite chair since it envelopes you and is so cozy to snuggle in. Montana just likes rolling around in it and tilting it and pushing it around, etc. :0)

Another journal page
If you have Karen Michel's book Altered Imagery or even seen her artwork then you know that she uses aluminum tape in some pieces. Rick had a whole roll of this stuff so I decided to play around with some of it. I used it for the base of this journal page and I also punched out the little daisies from the tape. I stamped on the tape with stazon ink. The little look-a-like screws are actually brads. Thanks to my sweet friend Gisele for sending me the image. By the way, this is the best pic that I could get of the page. I must have took 30 different pics to get something half decent to show. The aluminum tape is a really shiny silver color.

Montana Monday
This post is kind of late since we have been in and out all day. Rick, Montana, and I went to the beach today. Yes, I know....another water pic but at least he's not in the pool this time. I'm telling you, he is a little fish. (The tall shadow in the pic is Rick).

Blast from the Past
Do you remember the first cards that you made? Below is the very first card that I ever submitted to Stampers' Sampler and it was published in 2001. I actually still like this card. I can't believe it's been 5 years since I got my first rubberstamp...doesn't seem that long ago that my addiction started :0)
Do you ever look back on some of your first creations and think "what the heck was I thinking", hee hee. See card below. Today I checked our mail and there was a copy of Handcrafted from Stampington & Company. Handcrafted is a collection of articles/projects/pieces from all of their magazines. I know they only send free issues to people who have a published piece so I was wondering what of mine was in it. I start flipping through it and get towards the back of the mag and then I see "them". (There were two cards, I couldn't get a good scan of the second one, don't worry your not missing anything). They republished a page from a 2002 issue of Stampers Sampler and there were two of my cards on it. Below is one of them. I actually remember making this card and thinking how clever I was by using bits and pieces from various stamps to fit in the little color blocks and then making those cool corners with a star punch. I was so proud of myself at the time. I have to say it was fun seeing these cards again and knowing that I have gotten a little better at what I make. Hope you guys get a kick out of seeing them also :0)
ATC swap update: 28 people signed up so far....woohooooooo!!!
To Cara: yep, I will make sure to show all the atc's so everyone can check them out.
To everyone: hope you are having a safe, fun-filled weekend.
